When you carry your own shelter, the pack matters more than anything else. The Summit 55 has a light aluminium frame that passes the weight to a wide, padded hip belt, so your shoulders stay fresh on the third day.
Open it from the top, or through a long zip at the front to find the stove without unpacking everything. Straps under the lid take a sleeping mat, and loops on the front hold walking poles or an ice axe.
