Hardangervidda on skis
4.85(69)Hardangervidda, NorwayWinter

Five days of cross-country skiing across Europe's largest mountain plateau, from lodge to lodge under a huge winter sky.
- Ski across a white plateau the size of a small country
- Lodges with fires, hearty dinners and waffles
- A day's lesson to sharpen your technique
- The Hardangerjøkulen glacier on the horizon
About the trip
Hardangervidda is where Norwegians learn to ski, and where polar explorers once trained. In winter it becomes a vast, rolling white plateau, crossed by marked ski trails between welcoming mountain lodges.
We ski 15 to 25 kilometres a day on touring skis. You should have skied cross-country before and be comfortable on gentle slopes; the first day includes a lesson to brush up your technique.
What's included
- Four nights in mountain lodges
- Full board
- Ingrid as your guide
- A technique lesson
- The train from Oslo or Bergen to Finse

Your guide
Ingrid Solberg
Lead guide, Lofoten and western Norway
Ingrid grew up on a fishing island north of the Arctic Circle and has walked every ridge in Lofoten at least twice. In winter she swaps boots for skis on the Hardangervidda plateau. She knows where the cloudberries grow and never shares it.
