Four days of snowshoeing through silent, snow-heavy forests in Finnish Lapland, with a sauna and a hot dinner every night.

  • Snowshoe through Oulanka National Park's frozen gorges
  • A chance of northern lights every clear night
  • Sauna and an ice hole swim, if you dare
  • Cosy log cabins with a fireplace
  • No experience needed: snowshoeing is just walking

About the trip

In winter, Oulanka turns into a world of snow-laden spruce, frozen waterfalls and complete silence. On snowshoes you can walk anywhere, leaving the paths to follow the tracks of hares and reindeer.

Days are short and gentle, with three to four hours on snowshoes and plenty of stops for hot berry juice by the fire. Evenings are for the sauna, a hearty dinner and, if the sky is clear, standing outside looking for the northern lights.
